We stood on cliffs. The beach. Mountains. Between ruins. Lakes. Ancient places. Fairy chimneys. Beautiful valleys. Lagoons with seaturtles. Snowy mountains. We traveled for almost two months in Türkiye and one thing that definitely sticks with us: the nature and landscapes are incredibly versatile and ever changing. One stunning place or view after the other. Therefore the pictures for this post are an ode to Turkish wild places.
But, here we go with some random fun facts that we learned about the country!
– Most of the time you have no clue about the speed limit and they can be very random. Like, 82? Yes this was on a sign.
– It is impossible to avoid ruins. Even if you try hard. If you don’t like history, don’t go there.
– You’ll get so many oranges and mandarins as a gift everywhere you go that you’ll have a hard time eating them on time.
– No need to bring a guard dog, you’ll get one for free at every place. Make sure to bring snacks.
– The country is so diverse that you’ll need to pack clothes from bathing suits to winter clothes.
– If you want to blend in, bring fishing gear.
– It is the first country we encountered where the other campers are not mainly German but Turkish. They are still in second place though.
