This was such an amazing place to visit! We are talking of the sugar dunes in Oman. To get there we had to drive a long way on the beach, no other soul in sight, to finally park our car right between the sea and the sugar white dunes of this desert. It is not hard to see where the name came from.
We arrived just before sunset to witness the beautiful light and we had to leave again after breakfast because of the heat, but we would have loved to stay longer to take it all in. All the dunes are the same and yet they are not. It is mesmerising to just look at them. In some places nature feels a little more beautiful and raw than in others and this was definitely such a place. We enjoyed it so much! Except for the fine sand that was literally everywhere in the truck and on us when we left. Oh well, small price to pay.
