Today marks one year of living in the truck!
Exactly one year ago we handed over the keys of our house. And what a year it has been! Everything felt new and strange in the beginning. But we can safely say that we have more than settled in.
We feel at home in the truck and with each other. The more time we spent together, the more we love it. We have expanded our original crew with two adventurous cats. Homeschooling feels natural now and is actually a lot of fun. We have learned to slow down (but still learning to slow down even more!). We have made our dream of driving to Oman come true – and we have expanded our dream to Africa. We’ve had so many cool adventures! So many beautiful places. We have met absolutely amazing people and made some very precious friends. Although the truck has broken down more than once(as expected), in general he turned out to be very reliable and well build. There are so many things that felt scary and strange in the beginning, that are completely normal to us now. We have grown so much in the past year, learned so many lessons.
Our days can be filled with chaos, dust and problem solving, but also with laughter, adventures – big and small and just overall a lot of happiness.
We have not doubted our decision to start full time overlanding for one second! In fact, it became our lifestyle and we love it more every day. Here’s to many more years to come.
